Multimedia Package

What we supply to you

This package consists of between one and five web pages designed purely in HTML†, this means there are no fancy animated images or web scripting languages, though you may, of course, have any amount of static images and the size of each page is up to you, but please note that large images and large pages take longer to load, so it is recommended that each page should have no more than 5 or 6 images or 10 thumbnail images and be no longer than twice the visible Internet Explorer / Firefox browser window.

Your web site will consist of a home page, contact details, a description of your business and history (where applicable), and a navigation bar designed in HTML†.

We will also provide you with a custom designed static banner† complementing the design theme of your web site.

For your visitors, we will provide a contact form and protect your email address from internet spidering and spamming by encryption.

Your web site will be designed to make it search engine friendly by optimising your keywords and description tags throughout. (please note that this is not to be confused with Search Engine Optimisation or Web Site Promotion, please see our separate services).

We will also link your site with other multimedia related sites. The more sites you are linked to the more exposure your web site will receive. This linking will also greatly improve your search engine ranking.

We will set up a blog so that you can post a regular journal of your activities. This could include gig guides, new releases, showcases etc; or you can use the blog as a diary of your progress, visitors to your site will be able to subscribe to these through RSS feeds and we will also make these blogs available through blog related directories and search engines, once again greatly improving your search engine ranking.

An ezine or newsletter subscription will be setup, visitors to your site will be able to subscribe to these via email and this will keep you fresh in the minds of your audience.

As an optional extra if you have recorded music or video you wish to sell or promote, we can set up the means to allow users to download them, or have them play live from your web site. We will provide 4000MB of web space to house these multimedia files and will also make them available through music or video related sites. This is yet another way to greatly improve your search engine ranking.

We can also provide, as an optional extra, the means to create a webcast or podcast and once again we will make these available through music or video related site and, additionally, via RSS feeds through your web site.

As an optional extra, if you do not have your own web hosting account, Design Web Studio offer four hosting services (see separate services). We recommend full hosting with this package.

This package is designed with multimedia businesses in mind. It is perfect for musicians or film and video companies to promote a service or advertise a location. Extra pages may be added to suit your needs for £10 per page.

Talk to us if there are any other extras that you would like to be added to this package. We can provide many other services including credit card processing, shopping carts and flash animation. We are happy to share our web site designer's knowledge and expertise in helping you to decide what is valuable and relevant to your web site.

What we require from you

To get an idea of the type of design you would like, either supply a rough sketch or a list of URL's of sites you like.

A description of the services you provide - this may be in the form of promotional material you may have, for example, a catalogue or flyer.

A business history (if applicable).

Contact details you would like on your web page such as an email address, telephone or fax numbers and a postal address.

The content you would like to appear on your page.

Images you would like on your web page. Images can be supplied in any format but photographs must be supplied in .JPG or .PNG format for quality reasons.

Copies of your music or video files you wish to use, these files will need to be in either mp3, mp4, aac, ra, avi, flv, fla, wmv, rm or mpeg formats.

† This package is designed around our Small Home Packages, and is priced based upon our Static package, within this range of packages we also offer Interactive and Animated packages, a brief description of these other packages is listed below. If you feel your web site would benefit from the features below, we can design your multimedia package around them instead.

Interactive
The Interactive package is designed in HTML and Javascript, which adds interactive functions to your web pages and means your web site will provide your visitors with a much more pleasant experience. The navigation bar will be designed in Javascript and your custom designed banner will be animated.

Animated
The Animated package is designed using Adobe Flash with HTML and ActionScript 3.0 embedded which adds interactive and dynamic animated functions to your web pages and means your web site will provide your visitors with a much more pleasant experience. The navigation bar or console will be designed in Adobe Flash and your custom designed banner will be animated.

For the Interactive package you will need to add £30 to the cost of your Multimedia Package Costs, for the Animated package please add £50.
